Day 3 Sunday Rosthwaite to Grasmere

Thought this was gonna be an easy 9 miler but it turned out to be a real toughy.

Climbing and the descending all the way. Big climb to the top of the fell, but the effort was worthwhile - views both sides stunning. Particularly on a sunny clear day without a cloud in the sky.

What is a drumlin cos we have seen a field of them.

Map reading skills much improved but general reading still poor, tried to book in at Grasmere Hostel only to find we were booked in at Grasmere Hotel. Dunc would like to admit this was his minor error. The one mile walk from one to the other, at the end of a tiring day, was in silence.

Only 9.4 miles but it felt like a lot more

  1. Looking good so far, great pictures, see if you can get the right hotel before you finish your trip

  2. Looks great.Hope you two have got over your tiff!A long way to go yet.I'm sure there will be many more. From the girls in Ibiza.

  3. Fabulous pictures. I guess a bath and a cold beer helped revive spirits and relations?

  4. Good progress you are making. Keep on trekking you must. May the force be with you.

  5. Pics are great, trust Dunc also picked up the difference in the room rates between the hostel and the hotel!, keep it going from a sunny Algarve!! D&S

  6. If you keep getting the words 'hostel' and 'hotel'
mixed up you're gonna run out of beer money!
Great pictures by the way and riveting storylines...I'm now an avid follower!

  7. ey up fat lad
